Celebrating 45 Years of Excellence: The Journey of Event Source

This year marks a significant milestone for Event Source and our family of brands as we celebrate our 45th anniversary. From our humble beginnings to becoming a leader in the event rental industry, our journey has been one of growth, transformation, and unwavering commitment to quality and service.

 

How It Started: A Humble Beginning

 

Our story began in 1979 when the Bibbo Family purchased a Taylor Rental franchise, launching our operations from a modest 4,800 sq. ft. facility on Brookpark Road in Parma, OH. On July 26, 1979 the doors opened, and we started offering a diverse range of rental items, including power tools, equipment, cribs, and exercise bikes.

 

 

Recognizing the growing demand for event rentals, we introduced the “Party Plus” designation to highlight our event rental inventory. This strategic move marked a pivotal shift in our focus toward event rentals. The rebranding of the company into Event Source and Equip Source allowed us to spotlight high-end quality rentals and become a comprehensive source for rental needs.

 

 

With the success of the Event Source brand, we eventually divested the Equip Source division, which became Ohio’s first United Rental location. This transition allowed us to concentrate solely on event rentals, setting the stage for future growth and expansion.

 

How It's Going: Leading the Industry

 

Our commitment to excellence and client satisfaction has driven our growth over the past four and a half decades. On October 28, 2001, we took a significant step forward by opening a 75,000 sq. ft. facility in Cleveland, Ohio, establishing Event Source as the largest rental firm in northeastern Ohio.

 

 

To better serve our clientele, we expanded our presence with a 7,500 sq. ft. facility and showroom in Lewis Center, Ohio on April 30, 2008 and a 7,400 sq. ft. facility and design center in Ferndale, Michigan on October 28, 2015 to cater to the Detroit area. The Detroit design center set new standards for all future showrooms, demonstrating our commitment to innovation and client experience.

 

 

Our growth continued as we acquired Panache Party Rental, adding Florida as a new hub for our hub-and-spoke model. This acquisition allowed us to extend our exceptional products and services to a broader market. The addition of new showrooms brought our total to five.

 

On January 9, 2018, after several years of serving the Pittsburgh and northern West Virginia markets, we opened a sixth design center in the Bloomfield district of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. At our Valley View, OH location, we celebrated with a ribbon-cutting and grand reopening on April 18, 2018, which formally dedicated an expansion that doubled our headquarters to 150,000 sq. ft. The newly renovated administrative and transportation offices, along with a state-of-the-art design center and rebranded logos, underscored our continued commitment to excellence.

 

 

Most recently, we welcomed So Cool Events to the Panache Events Family of Companies in 2021 and opened a design center in West Palm Beach on May 7, 2024, further enhancing our ability to deliver outstanding event experiences nationwide. 

 

Looking Ahead

As we celebrate our 45th anniversary, we reflect on our rich history and the values that have guided us. Our journey from a small rental shop in Parma, OH to a national leader in event rentals is a testament to our dedication to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction.
